Capitol Hill Movers for Walk-Ups and Lease Turnovers
Third-floor brick walk-up on Summit, new tower on Broadway with a freight elevator to book, or a Pike/Pine apartment whose lease ends Friday. We carry it, park the truck somewhere legal, and haul the leftovers in the same trip.
Capitol Hill was built before elevators were a given, and the stairwells show it. Most of our jobs here are 1920s brick walk-ups off Summit, Belmont, and Bellevue Ave E, with the rest split between the newer buildings on Broadway and Pike/Pine that want a reserved freight elevator. We drive over from Kirkland in about 25 minutes on SR-520, bring the 2-man crew at $119 per hour, and take away whatever the next tenant should not inherit.

Moving on Capitol Hill: stairs, RPZ signs, and the elevator sheet
Parking is the first problem. Nearly every block between Broadway and 15th Ave E sits in a Restricted Parking Zone, and the guest passes are for cars, not a 16-ft truck. We scout your block the day before, use the alley behind Pike/Pine buildings where one exists, and arrive early enough to take the curb closest to your door. Olive Way and E John St around the light rail station are the worst for double parking, so we plan a load zone there rather than hoping. The second problem is stairs. Brick walk-ups on Summit Ave E, Belmont, and Harvard have narrow landings with a tight turn at each floor, and we shrink sofas to fit (legs off, cushions bagged) before the first carry. Newer buildings along Broadway and 12th want a freight elevator booked and a move window, and some ask for paperwork before they hand over the key. Send us the building's move-in sheet and we'll tell you straight what we can provide.
Junk removal on Capitol Hill
Apartment junk here leaves the same way it came in: down the stairs. Our prices are by truck space with the carrying and disposal included, so the third floor costs the same as the ground floor. A single item is $89–$139, a quarter truck $349–$499, a half truck $649–$899, and a full 16-ft truck $1,299–$1,599. A recent lease-end on Bellevue Ave E is typical: a futon, a particleboard bookshelf, a broken office chair, a box of kitchen odds and ends, and a mattress from a fourth-floor walk-up. That filled about a quarter of the truck, priced at $349–$499, and took the two of us about 45 minutes including the stairs. Anything usable goes to donation first, and old TVs and monitors ride along as a $59 add-on. Text a photo to (206) 609-5581 and you'll have a number back before you finish your coffee. Your first haul with us is $25 off with code FIRSTHAUL.
Lease turnover on the Hill, done before the walk-through
Capitol Hill leases turn over constantly, and the gap between your move-out and the landlord's inspection is where deposits get lost. We built the job around that gap. On one trip we load what you're keeping, then sweep the apartment for what you're not: the mattress you're replacing, the shelf that won't survive another move, the bags meant for the donation bin. The truck leaves with both. Property managers remember the movers who show up inside the window they gave, use the elevator pads, and leave the hallway how they found it, and we intend to keep being those movers. If you're moving a few blocks (Miller Park to Summit Slope is a five-minute drive), the clock barely moves on transit and almost all of your $119 per hour goes to carrying. We run 8am to 10pm, seven days, and we're rated 4.9 stars across 32 Google reviews. Call or text (206) 609-5581 with your move-out date and we'll tell you the same day whether we can hold it.
