Mountlake Terrace Movers for Small Lots and Station Apartments
Postwar ramblers on tight lots, new apartments by the Link station, condos around Lake Ballinger: a crew 18 minutes away that hauls the junk in the same trip and never pads the drive.
Mountlake Terrace is about 18 minutes from our Kirkland base, up I-405 and I-5, close enough that we treat it like the next town over. The city went up fast in the 1950s, so most of the housing is small ramblers on small lots with carports and full basements, and the new part is the apartment buildings clustered around the light rail station at Town Center. We move both with a 2-man crew at $119/hr, and the county transfer station is right here in town.

Moving in Mountlake Terrace, tight lots and new towers
Mountlake Terrace was built in a hurry for young families in the 1950s, and the houses show it: 900 to 1,400 square feet, a carport instead of a garage, a basement reached by a narrow stair, and a driveway that fits one car and half a truck. We park the 16-ft box at the curb on the Cedar Way and Melody Hill streets where the road is wide enough, and we run the dolly the rest of the way. The other Mountlake Terrace is Town Center, where the apartment buildings around the light rail station come with a leasing office, a reserved elevator, a loading zone with a time limit, and a garage our truck can't enter. We handle the reservation and the move-in form ahead of the day. Lake Ballinger has condos with shared parking, and Gateway has the older complexes off 236th. Access is easy: three I-5 exits and 44th Avenue from Lynnwood, none of them bad outside the evening rush.
Junk removal where the transfer station is local
The Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station sits inside Mountlake Terrace on 61st Place, which makes junk here the shortest disposal run on our map. Pricing is by truck space: a single item $89–$139, a quarter truck $349–$499, a half truck $649–$899, three quarters $999–$1,299, and a full 16-ft truck $1,299–$1,599, carrying and disposal inside. A worked example from a Melody Hill rambler: adult kids clearing their parents' house had a basement with a chest freezer, a workbench, two couches, a console TV, shelves of canning jars, and thirty years of paper. Everything but the paperwork filled about three quarters of the truck, so the job priced at that tier, with the console TV folded in as a $59 e-waste add-on. Nothing was charged as a separate item. The workbench and one couch went to donation, the freezer and shelving to metal recycling, and the rest went five minutes down the road.
Mountlake Terrace pricing, without a markup for the drive
Two movers and the truck: $119/hr. Three movers: $159/hr. Labor only for a rental truck: $89/hr. No travel fee, so the number you see by text is the one on the invoice. Typical results here: a 1-bedroom by the station lands between $360 and $480, a 2-bedroom between $480 and $720, and a rambler with a full basement is usually a 3-man day. Mountlake Terrace is 12 miles from our base, so a crew from Kirkland is a local crew by any honest definition: the drive costs you nothing, no travel fee, and the clock only runs on the work. That rate sits below what most two-mover crews in south Snohomish County charge, and a small move here, like a studio by the station, often wraps in two hours. Same-day junk pickups are the norm here rather than the exception. Call or text (206) 609-5581 and you'll get a time, not a callback.

I booked Breath Out for same-day help moving two very heavy pieces, a leather couch and a stone coffee table. The couch would not fit through our hallways, so Asuman worked with me on the best solution and got it down from a se…
Able to show up on short notice and were quick and thorough. Price was reasonable as well. And to top things off, very personable. Would definitely hire again.
