Moving on the island
The Mercer Ways are gorgeous and merciless: East and West Mercer Way wind, narrow, and drop toward the water, with driveways a full-size van-line truck simply can't take. Our 16-ft truck with a lift gate is the right tool — small enough to snake down to a waterfront home, big enough to move one. Mid-island, the ranches and split-levels off Island Crest Way are straightforward days, and the newer condos around Town Center come with elevator reservations and loading-dock windows we coordinate before moving day, same as we do in Bellevue and Seattle. Cross-lake moves are the island specialty: I-90 puts us in Seattle in ten minutes and Bellevue in five.
Junk removal for a tidy island
Mercer Island junk jobs are usually about a sale or a fresh start: the garage and storage room cleared before the stagers arrive, the downsize from the family house on First Hill to a Town Center condo, the estate that needs patient hands more than fast ones.
